Mittens

Last week, me and my BF went to visit our second home, Kalix in Sweden. We always pay a visit to the local second hand bookstore, since my BF's best friend works there. They always have a game of chess, while I snoop around in the books. I can never leave the shop without buying something: This time, I bought a book about Saami live as it used to be (in Swedish but with a lot of pictures) and two handmade shopping bags (which I can't show because I will be using one to swap with my buddy in the US).

And then ...

I almost bought one of these :

These are hand knitted, pure wool, Swedish, made-by-somebody's-mum, mittens !!!
I especially liked the one with the white flowers on it and tried it on several times. They fitted so snugly on my hands and are warm and soft.
But ...
Horribly expensive ...
So this is what I'm doing now: trying to knit my own mittens and getting all obsessed about it.
Oh well, I have until next winter to get them finished, don't I ?

I think the mittens are so pretty. I know yours will be just as lovely. I was reading your older posts and found Dec 4, 2008 about the Banned Commercial...I laughed so hard...it's so funny because it is so true! :)

Doet me eraan denken dat ik dringend aan wanten moet beginnen breien! Als ik ze ook voor volgende winter wil afhebben.

Ik hou wel van de blauwe want rechtsonder :)
